I wonder if anyone saw the Red Kite flying over the village this morning at about 1010 – it is the first one I have seen in this part of Norfolk. It drifted away off north over the railway line. On my morning walk today I also saw a Tawny Owl taking a vole which is rather unusual in the daytime.
During this dry spell please help the swallows, swifts and house martins by putting out trays of very wet mud. If like me you have artificial house martin nests, smear them over with mud to make them look more natural.
This advice was on the television this morning.
